As Test Stand Engineer / Electronics Engineer (f/m/d) you are a member of our global R&D team within the “Near Patient Care” customer area in Roche Diagnostics at our Rochte site in Mannheim, Germany or Indianapolis, USA. You will work in collaboration with a diverse engineering team to develop the next generation of diabetes care products.

In this position you provide high engineering expertise and leadership to develop test stands and associated processes to support our new product development from early concept through production. You will also support product lifecycle management activities in close collaboration with our Product Support functions (e.g. Operations, Quality).

Your impact

  • You realize product and test stand designs through translation of requirements and design specifications, and develop and test complex systems based on collected requirements and project needs
  • You define test strategies and you develop tests & test methods to assess the maturity & robustness of product and test stand design elements from the early concept stage until final solution.
  • you conduct tests in accordance with the test plan, monitor the progress and outcomes in close collaboration with the project team members in RnD and Operations.
  • You provide appropriate test documentation and associated tracing and do research and analysis of various technologies and state-of-the-art standards.
  • you coordinate and oversee internal resources & external development partners to ensure all deliverables are met on schedule and within agreed budgets
  • you actively support and collaborate with the manufacturing team in transferring test strategies, tests stand solutions and functions into mass production or manufacturing lines.
  • You train colleagues & other departments on product, test stand and general engineering topics.

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed studies in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering with electrical emphasis or a closely related discipline.
  • 4+ years of progressive work experience in an appropriate engineering field, including test stand or embedded product design and development for complex electronics-based products. Software development experience is preferred for purposes of test stand control, electronics control, investigation, troubleshooting and testing.
  • In addition, you have a high level of knowledge for release and design to manufacturing processes and respective documentation in a regulated medical device environment.
  • You display excellent organizational, decision-making, human relations, and communications skills
  • You have demonstrated leadership skills as applied to the management of discrete technical projects and have an interest in advancing your career where growth opportunities include management of products, projects and resources, strategic planning and helping set the company vision.
  • Experience with medical device development, biomedical engineering, electro-chemical sensors, and a regulated product industry are all benefits for this position.
  • Professional working proficiency of English language completes your profile working within an international connected organization.

This position can be filled in Mannheim, Germany or in Indianapolis, IN USA.
