SAIC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the US Navy in Newport, RI.

Job Description

SAIC provides technical support to Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island. SAIC is currently looking to hire an Electrical Engineer specialized in analog electronic design to join a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists to perform hardware analysis on projects for the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). Applicants should have experience with analog circuit design techniques, circuit simulation, layout tools, and a firm understanding of how real-word signals get captured and processed by analog electronics.

Job Duties

  • Analyze and document existing electronics.
  • Identifying and resolving design flaws or discrepancies identified during analysis and testing.
  • Creating detailed design documentation, including schematics, circuit diagrams, and component selection.
  • Communicating design ideas, technical challenges, and project updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related technical field 4+ years of experience as an electrical engineer or similar role.
  • Circuit design Deep understanding of fundamental analog circuit building blocks like amplifiers, filters, comparators, and voltage references.
  • Signal processing Knowledge of analog signal processing techniques like filtering, amplification, and signal conditioning.
  • Power management Experience with designing power converters, voltage regulators, and power integrity considerations.
  • PCB CAD Software Altium, Kicad, etc.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance; active DoD Interim Secret clearance or higher desirable.

Desired Experience

  • Simulation tools Proficiency in using analog circuit simulation tools like SPICE to analyze and optimize designs.
  • Prototyping Hands-on experience with building and testing analog circuits on breadboards or PCB prototypes.
  • Debugging Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in analog circuits using measurement equipment.
  • Soldering Formal or practical training in hand soldering wires, connectors, protoboards, and PCB’s.
