Job Summary:

The Program Manager strategizes, implements, and maintains program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives. Develops program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement. Maintains organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance. Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached. Manage budget and resources for maximum productivity.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
  • in the absence of a bachelor’s degree, 20 years of related work experience in utility design and/or utility experience and/or utility project Management
  • Fifteen (15)+ years of experience as a Project Manager in multi-discipline EPC projects in the utility or industrial industries.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of utility engineering practices with an emphasis on transmission and substation design; critical path method scheduling; work breakdown structure; utility accounting practices; economic analysis; company policies, rules, and regulations; construction methods; contract administration; equipment specifications; property rights; and local, state, and federal permitting.
  • Advanced organizational skills required to oversee multiple Project Managers executing complex transmission, substation & distribution projects ensuring safety, cost, schedule, scope, and quality is met.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to lead, motivate and mentor Project Managers.
  • Excellent Communication at multiple organizational levels
  • Managing Deadlines and Budgets
  • Excellent computer system skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) for cost and schedule reporting
  • Primavera P6/MS Projects experience required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new projects, programs, and client initiatives.
  • Develops programs and plans for project managers to manage existing accounts. Develop a business development mentality, relationship management with our existing client base.
  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return on investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
  • Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.
  • Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders.
  • Hire, Train, and Mentor Project Managers.
  • Develop Training and Developmental Plans for Project Managers.
  • Lead Process Development and Implementation.
  • Reviews and approves the development of project plans, including project scope, cost estimates, schedule, and cash flow. Project plans will also include consideration for safety, environment, land use, regulation, communication, procurement, reliability, quality, and risk.
  • Reviews and Approves Subcontract Contracts and Change Orders.
  • Monitors the project, including safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk.
  • Oversees the development of project proposals, bid preparation, project schedules, bill of materials, etc.
  • Perform quality reviews of Project Management Products and Process.
  • Any and all other related tasks assigned by supervisor.
