About Delta Cargo
Much as Delta Air Lines helps passengers reach their destinations, the Cargo division serves companies in the safe and efficient transport of a wide range of freight, including everything from mail to live animals and life-saving pharmaceuticals.
Different departments in the Cargo division provide rate information, sell cargo space in the belly of Delta’s passenger aircraft, track & trace freight and resolve customer problems. Additionally, they safely move cargo from a warehouse location to airport ramp areas and ensure proper delivery onto the appropriate aircraft.
About Cargo Commercial
The Cargo Commercial team includes Global Sales, Product, Marketing/Communications, Sales Development, Market Development, and Insights Delivery.
The Delta Cargo team is seeking a Co-op for the Commercial Insights Delivery and Market Development team for a total of three full-time rotations: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Sumer 2027 based in Atlanta, GA.
Insights Delivery and Market Development
Overall function and role:
- Contribute to the Insights Delivery and Market Development efforts at Delta Cargo. Empower cargo colleagues and customers with the insights they need, developing new ways to connect people with our business. On the Market Development front, develop and grow our cargo markets, working across teams to perform analysis, create action plans and identify opportunities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities could include:
- Assist with report design and modification using various BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) that connect our people with the insights they need
- Responsible for performing various statistical and quantitative analyses
- Proactively identify areas of refinement to continuously enhance the report creation process using automation, and extensive formulas, to reduce time spent on repeatable tasks
- Develop reporting and run weekly to help support adoption tracking of new tools
- Responsible for assisting in the creation of PowerPoint presentations used in internal and industry presentations
- Lead competitive research and Other Airline (OA) analysis to help Delta Cargo capture new opportunities in the air cargo market
- Provide division support & financial analysis on market analysis, including station level revenue opportunities to maximize P/(L)
- Leverage industry and internal data to partner across Cargo teams to make recommendations for market growth strategies supporting Cargo Market Development
- Support go-to-market strategy for new / seasonal flights
- Develop and refine analysis tools to help analyze new market ventures
- Assist in revenue performance analysis
- Assist with various information requests
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution.
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.
- Must be available to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Summer 2027.
- Candidate is team-oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong organizational, project management, analytic/problem-solving skills, and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness/ability to learn new skills is required.
- This position requires student to work for 3 alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op.
- Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce.
