This Position reports to:

Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your skills by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

The work model for the role is: #LI - Onsite

This role is contributing to the Engineering Management Function within the Local Division / Product Group in India. Main stakeholders include Project Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, as well as external customers.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Providing directions to the engineering team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
• Ensuring the projects/ operations value chain portfolio follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications.
• Initiating, coordinating, facilitating, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering/design capability and efficiency, utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity.
• Driving team performance to ensure that the deliverables are met on time and as per the set contract specifications and safety, cyber security, and quality requirements.

Qualifications for the role:

• You are highly skilled in agile methodologies, design thinking, and data-driven engineering processes, and enjoy working within the industrial automation and digital engineering market.
• You have over 10 years of experience in engineering project delivery, team management, and technical consulting, including managing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment, primarily on products such as VFDs, motors, and power systems.
• You are highly adept in SAP, engineering design tools, and collaborative platforms such as MS Project and SharePoint.
• You are innovative around problem-solving and strategic planning, and passionate about coaching and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering, with proven experience leading engineering and commissioning activities in complex project environments.
• You are at ease communicating in English, and ideally, additional regional languages depending on the location.
