About the Role
Lead technical customer relationships and battery system development for our established Lithium-ion division. You'll challenge customers to define precise requirements with your systems knowledge, manage cross-functional engineering teams, and conduct extensive field testing from golf courses to data centers.
What You'll Do
- Serve as primary technical contact for OEM customers developing 12V-500V LFP battery systems
- Build a deep understanding of customer application and Write Comprehensive Product Requirements Documents
- Educate customers on their lithium battery requirements and push back on vague customer specifications
- Lead multi-week field testing programs for motive or stationary battery trials across multiple states
- Directly manage junior engineers and co-ops while coordinating with firmware, test, and design teams
- Conduct on-site validation testing at customer facilities for critical applications
- Create technical documentation including DFMEA and design verification plans
- Translate market needs into product roadmap requirements
- Drive technical innovation and competitive differentiation
- Manage battery product end-of-life and sustaining engineering
- Check, and approve 3D models and drawings
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred
- 5+ years application engineering experience with Lithium-ion battery systems
- Experience with lithium battery technology, BMS functionality and specification
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and technical requirements
- Willingness to travel for field testing and customer visits
Preferred Experience
- BMS IC application/design/PCBA background (Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, etc.)
- UPS, Motor controller and power electronics
- Battery testing/certification experience (Intertek, UL, testing labs)
- Golf cart, LSEV, stationary, or datacenter power applications
- Multi-voltage system experience (12V-500V)
- Understanding of mechanical design, heat transfer in power and battery systems
- Project management with cross-functional teams
