Job Title: Test Engineer - Associate Engineer

Job Description

This position involves assisting with the development of transmission and drivetrain testing. The engineer will work with Medium Wheel Loaders, Various Tractors, and other machinery to conduct tests, supervise these tests, analyze results, and make necessary software adjustments for transmission control. The role requires collaboration with component engineers to compare test results with expectations and make modifications as needed. This position involves working in a team setting, presenting results, and collaborating with various teams in an on-machine environment, including outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transmission and drivetrain testing development.
• Work with Medium Wheel Loaders and Various Tractors.
• Run tests on machines and supervise testing processes.
• Analyze test results and adjust software for transmission control.
• Collaborate with component engineers to compare results and make necessary modifications.
• Work in a team setting and present results to various teams.

Essential Skills

• Validation and mechanical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields, or relevant experience in testing and data review.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude, preferably with engine work.
• Experience with drivetrain systems.
• Proficiency in data analysis, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Basic CAD understanding.
• Understanding of machine controls, including gearbox, gear ratio, torque, clutch, transmission control, and controls validation.
• Knowledge in Python, test plan development, validation protocols, test engineering, electrical, LabVIEW, mechanical engineering, and test equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in car hobbies and performance racing is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment is based at the Peoria Proving Grounds, a large facility for on-machine testing with significant outdoor work. The role requires the ability to work in varying weather conditions, including hot and cold environments, and involves physical work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $35.00/hr.
