Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Description
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for preparing machines to be deployed to customer sites, assisting in the setup and operation of machines at customer locations, and servicing existing legacy machines in the field.
Responsibilities
- Test and debug automated machinery to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Service existing equipment at customer facilities to maintain operational efficiency.
- Write professional service reports detailing the work performed and any recommendations.
- Train customers on the operation and maintenance of machinery to enhance user proficiency.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time to support customer needs.
- Provide phone support to customers experiencing equipment issues to offer immediate assistance.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate legacy and current equipment in the field to ensure optimal performance.
- Document testing procedures thoroughly to maintain testing accountability and historical records.
- Ensure machines are safe to operate according to industry standards using various safety equipment and knowledge.
- Qualify machines to meet company and customer specifications by performing necessary evaluations.
- Collaborate in a team environment to share knowledge and support individual and collective goals.
- Utilize and obtain proficiency in various testing equipment such as Volt-Ohm Meters, Oscilloscopes, Chart Recorders, Weld Checkers, etc.
Essential Skills
- Experience in the set-up, start-up, and commissioning of automated machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC logic programs, primarily Rockwell systems.
- Proficiency in operating and navigating around an HMI.
- Ability to troubleshoot machinery set-up, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting robotic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Industrial mechanical and electrical proficiency.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Experience with Resistance Welding, Induction Heating, and Arc Welding.
- Experience with Industrial Robotics.
- Experience working in an industrial environment or with industrial equipment.
Work Environment
The role requires travel up to 40% of the time with onsite work conducted in a clean facility where machines are tested. The position guarantees a minimum of 50 hours a week, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate for all hours over 40 and all time spent on customer sites.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
