Senior Integration Technical Program Manager, Vehicle Platform

Nuro

Who We Are

Nuro exists to better everyday life through robotics. Founded in 2016, Nuro has spent eight years developing autonomous driving (AD) technology and commercializing AD applications. The Nuro Driver™ is our world-class autonomous driving system that combines AD hardware with our generalized AI-first self-driving software. Built to learn and improve through data, the Nuro Driver™ is one of the few driverless autonomous technologies on public roads today.

Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Fidelity, Bailie Gifford, T. Rowe Price, Google, and other leading investors. We’ve partnered with some of the world’s most respected brands including Uber, FedEx, Domino’s, Walmart, Kroger, and 7-Eleven.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Autonomy Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Integration TPM team in leading the development and deployment of cutting-edge autonomous systems. The successful candidate will manage complex projects in the fields of autonomous vehicles, robotics, or similar technology, ensuring that all technical milestones are met and that all aspects of the system — including perception, behavior, localization, and mapping — function seamlessly together.

As the TPM for integration and partnership programs, you will work cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, tooling & platform, operations, partnerships, and safety teams to oversee and coordinate the development, integration, testing, and deployment of autonomous systems on various vehicle platforms. This role is crucial in ensuring that our systems are innovative, reliable, and safe.

About the Work

  • Own the vehicle program from concept through launch while defining scope, aligning stakeholders, managing cross-functional planning, and ensuring timely, quality delivery across hardware, software, and integration milestones.
  • Lead tracking for requirements definition, architecture alignment through design, integration, validation, and production stages of a vehicle program.
  • Supervise and track the software development necessary to enable the system to autonomously interact with its environment.
  • Oversee the testing and validation of autonomous systems in real-world environments and simulation, ensuring the system’s performance is reliable and safe.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to vehicle system integration, including potential sensor failures, inaccurate localization, or system malfunctions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, technical challenges, and mitigation strategies.
  • Implement and adhere to agile project management practices, ensuring that technical milestones are met within project timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure all components meet high-quality standards, and perform continuous improvements to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of the autonomous system.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Math / Physics majors, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing technical projects related to autonomy or robotics, with a strong understanding of onboard software, vehicle architecture, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with autonomous AI systems development, including integrating hardware and software components.
  • Strong knowledge of autonomous system algorithms, sensors (LIDAR, cameras, radar), and data fusion techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Strong understanding of agile project management principles and tools.
  • Experience in taking a program from initial concept to launch.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with simulation, testing, and validation methodologies for autonomous systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex, high-risk technical challenges.
  • Navigating differing priorities and aligning stakeholders.
