Job Summary

Automation Engineer

The position is located at 1616 W 31st Street, Vancouver, WA 98660.

10% Domestic travel required.

What you will do

As an Automation Engineer, you will:

Provide technical leadership to engineers and technicians for machine troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and effective countermeasure and process improvements. Actively participate in process improvements through World Class Manufacturing (WCM), specifically as they relate to root cause analysis and implementation of technical bulletins. Apply Superuser and BEX in GRASP and ensure compliance in all aspects. Provide training for the maintenance department in relation to the factory automated systems. Lead automation and integration in new equipment projects. Keep and maintain updated documentation for the factory and machines as needed. Prepare and implement upgrades on automation systems. Work with and fault find on programmable control and robotics systems, network, database, IO Servers, and SCADA systems. Analyze system design and create original or modify existing HMI, database, and PLC Programs to meet project requirements. Support projects with integration between automation core (factory floor) and digitalization systems (data on cloud, dashboards, AI, and smart devices). Develop and establish an Operational Technology Security system and officer in similar factory.

We believe you have

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Control Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in automated manufacturing processes and systems.

Must also have work experience with:

1. Operational Technology Security (OT Security), Industrial Control System Security (ICS Security), Industrial Cybersecurity, ISO/IEC 27001/2, and the ISA/IEC 62443 Series for Operational Technology;

2. Industrial PLC, programming and troubleshooting of S7-300 and S7-400 Siemens PLCs using Simatic Manager Step 7 software, S7-1500, and S7-1200 using TIA Portal software;

3. Siemens HMIs and SCADA using WinCC software, Mitsubishi PLCs using GX-developer software, and Omron PLCs using CX-programmer software;

4. Electrical drives and servomotors including Rexroth drives using Indraworks and Syntop software’s, Siemens drives using Starter or Scout software, and Parker drives using DSE Suite;

5. Robotics programming which includes ABB Robot Studio 6 and ABB Robot Studio 2023 using Rapid and C#5;

6. Project management of production management systems, integrated automation projects, converting equipment automation projects, material handling, and conveyor systems projects;

7. Automation solution design for safety, quality, environmental or process improvements, obsolescence or upgrades; and

8. Principles of World Class Manufacturing or Kaizen methodologies.

Pay Equity

Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include overtime, annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.

Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): 77,189.00 USD to 97,189.00 USD

Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS.
