Job Description

Develop and implement control and diagnostic algorithms for various vehicle features and systems in brake controls using either Model Based coding including MATLAB, C, or C++. Help define calibration strategies and promote hand code practices in controls and SW implementation. Ensure compliance to safety and government regulations while developing GM-internal best practices. Interpret system requirements and translate it to control and SW strategies. Design and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component reuse and consistency to standard methodologies. Provide support to other specialists for root cause analysis. Define software unit tests, HIL (Hardware in the loop), and vehicle tests from customers’ expectations and system requirements. Meet physics-based requirements with efficient designs using modeling, simulation, data collection, and analysis. Support resolution of vehicle, plant, or customer issues related to controls and calibration. Help build tools, libraries, and training material to enable capability growth and support learning of the team. Collaborate with other teams to define and integrate components, check functionality on the bench and in the vehicle. Mentor new employees to help increase capabilities and share knowledge. 5% travel to client sites nationwide. Telecommuting available 2 days a week.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as a Developer, or related occupation. Five years of experience with Embedded controls and controls software development. Three years of experience with Software coding including C-language, Simulink, MATLAB, DOORS, GIT environments; plant modeling, and analysis tools; Control system theory and application to embedded systems including state space feedback control, adaptive control, or model predictive control; and Brake Control, Chassis Control or Battery High Voltage, Vehicle Energy Transfer, Charging or Automotive System. Two years of experience with Electrification and diagnostics; JIRA; and MIL, SIL, HIL or CPUU Testing.
