Description

DevOps Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) project on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC). In addition, this role designs, develops, tests, documents and integrates simulation products for MDASim using C++ and/or C# programming languages on Windows operating systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Automate infrastructure deployment, scaling, and management
  • Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes
  • Implement and manage containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Ensure security best practices and compliance requirements are met
  • Maintain and enhance configuration management tools
  • Design and develop software to model various missile and air defense capabilities and concepts
  • Assist in the development of simulation and software architectures
  • Candidate may be responsible for leading development of an agile software feature team within the context of a larger team (Level 3)
  • Additional responsibilities could include interfacing with MDASim customers and presenting technical briefings to MDASim stakeholders (Level 3)

Basic Qualifications for DevOps Software Engineer or Principal DevOps Software Engineer:

  • DevOps Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience.
  • Principal DevOps Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 1 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • Experience in software development, including analysis, design, code, test and integration
  • Strong, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel
  • Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform
  • Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development.
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
