Job Description
As a Mech Design Engineer II, here at Honeywell, you will assist and check engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment distribution, performs equipment selection, defines bill of materials and product models configurations, also performing materials ordering following project plans and schedules on medium and high complexity projects, under minimal supervision.
Performs mechanical design activities under the supervision of mechanical engineering lead or leads a Mechanical Project Engineering team in all types of projects sizes and complexities, efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Also performs on-site commissioning ensuring equipment’s distribution within the building as well as appropriate flow of the process.
Responsibilities
1. Technical Contribution
- Prepares and coordinate mechanical engineering drawings in collaboration with engineering specialists using CAD system
- Prepares layouts integrating several levels for material handling flow and supports BOM definition accordingly, by meeting manufacturing & customer pre-approved schedules
- Provides support during site commissioning ensuring equipment’s distribution and performance
- Supports and propose continuous improvement of project process/product/ system design via provision of lessons learned feedback
2. Planning and Control
- Delivers in house assignments as per the agreed timeline and set quality standards for 2D/3D CAD work
- Follows work plans and ensures cost estimates for work within project budgets, troubleshooting and support activities
3. Processes and Tools
- Ensures accurate application and implementation of standard design practices and tools in preparing accurate drawings and 3D modeling
- Uses standard processes and procedures to ensure all layout and equipment selection activities comply with projects specifications to satisfy contractual requirements
- Reports processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas
4.-Risk and Opportunity
- Supports and coordinate in conducting risk and opportunity assessments during site commissioning phase and in handling technical risks by following mitigation guidelines during equipment’s distribution phases
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Robotics
- Engineering professional license and/or cedula is a must
- Master's degree in a related field
- Driver´s License
