We’re seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join our innovative team in Poestenkill, NY.

As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will lead the electrical design of advanced weighing and control systems for DSI, taking ownership of everything from detailed schematics to PLC programming. Your designs will shape the future of our equipment and ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance at every level.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end electrical design process, including wiring layouts, schematics, BOM creation, and PLC logic.
  • Champion design accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement through systematic engineering change management.
  • Lead safety and certification efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and acting as the primary point of contact with certifying agencies.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical leader, supporting junior engineers and collaborating across teams to resolve challenges and embed best practices.
  • Drive production support and problem-solving efforts, bringing deep technical insight to cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in electrical system design.

Deep expertise in everything from circuit-level design to advanced power distribution and industrial control systems.

Proficiency in schematics, PLC programming, communication protocols, and regulatory compliance.

A track record of leading technical projects and driving results in multidisciplinary teams.

You're a natural problem-solver who thrives on complex technical challenges.

You communicate clearly—whether explaining technical details to peers or presenting solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

You’re detail-oriented, organized, and reliable under pressure.

You take initiative, adapt quickly, and always deliver with precision and quality.

Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 per year depending on experience.
