Job Description

A Transportation Drainage Design Engineer with a strong background in hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) design related to transportation projects, including roadways, highways, and bridges. This role involves the planning, analysis, and design of stormwater management systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred
  • 2 + years of experience in drainage engineering related to transportation infrastructure.
  • Proficient in MicroStation, and drainage modeling software.
  • Familiarity with DOT drainage design criteria (FDOT, TxDOT, GDOT, etc., as applicable).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Perform drainage analysis and design for transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., roadways, interchanges, bridges).
  • Develop stormwater management plans, including detention/retention systems, culvert design, and erosion control measures.
  • Prepare technical drainage reports, calculations, and construction documents using MicroStation and adhering to applicable DOT standards and stormwater regulations.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HY-8, and StormCAD.
  • Collaborate with roadway engineers, environmental specialists, and permitting agencies.
  • Support project submittals and attend review meetings with clients and regulatory agencies when required.
  • Maintain quality control and ensure adherence to budgets, scopes, and schedules.

Pay: $80K - $110K
