Job Title: Fixed Asset Accountant – Contractor
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Duration: 6 months
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8-5
Reports To: Finance Manager
Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Asset Accountant contractor to join a finance team during peak operational season. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing the lifecycle of fixed assets across the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations for construction products and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger with the general ledger
- Track capital expenditures, project costs, and asset acquisitions
- Record asset movements including additions, disposals, impairments, and transfers
- Calculate and post depreciation entries and support monthly and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and facilities teams to ensure accurate and timely asset data
- Support internal and external audit requirements, providing documentation and analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal control standards, and company policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in fixed asset or general ledger accounting
- Prior experience in manufacturing, or construction-related industry preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control best practices
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Excel
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
