Job Title: Sr Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Job Description

As a Instrumentation Engineer, you will be primarily engaged in the design, modeling, and analysis of Instrumentation and Control engineering requirements for small to mid-sized heavy industrial projects. You will be responsible for planning and executing engineering design for field instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Integrated Control Systems (ICS), Fire and Gas, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Telecommunications systems. This role entails the preparation of basic and detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and analyze Instrumentation and Control engineering requirements for industrial projects.
  • Plan and execute engineering design for field instrumentation, DCS, SCADA, ICS, SIS, and Telecommunications systems.
  • Prepare basic and detailed design documents for instrumentation and controls.
  • Identify and develop work sharing packages for interoffice execution support.
  • Provide leadership to ensure communication and execution of work within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Apply current National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Utilize knowledge of ISA standards applicable to instrumentation and controls.
  • Work with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
  • Understand schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all instrumentation deliverables.
  • Create and manage Index, I/O List, Data Sheets, and Loop Drawings.
  • Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD or Microstation.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
  • Programming experience with PLC, HMI, and DCS equipment.
  • Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of the NEC.
  • Familiarity with ISA standards.
  • Experience with construction estimating and bulk materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD or Microstation.
  • Experience in construction, construction estimating, and construction bulk materials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $67.30/hr.
