Project Manager - Product Development
Job Description
The Project Manager will play a crucial role in driving product development, resource, and project management activities to achieve product commercialization goals. This position requires gaining cross-functional alignment on strategic vision and goals, meeting project objectives, and ensuring optimal resource allocation. You will also provide coaching and mentoring on project management principles and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Manage the development and implementation process of products involving cross-functional teams, focusing on the delivery of new or existing products through Design Control.
- Identify gaps, potential bottlenecks, delays, and challenges in project execution.
- Manage changing priorities on projects through effective schedule management and deployment of project management methodologies.
- Drive the overall project management infrastructure, including metrics, reporting, administration, phase reviews, and design reviews of new product development and design change projects.
- Review the status of projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
- Monitor projects from initiation through product launches.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals.
- Participate in implementing best practice tools and techniques in project management within R&D projects and optimize the Product Development Process (PDP).
- Work closely with the R&D Technical Leader, Project Review Committee, key sponsors, and stakeholders to communicate organizational capacity constraints and project risks.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in project management and product development, particularly in medical devices.
- Background in catheter product-focused development.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, process improvement, design control, and new product introduction.
- Experience with SolidWorks, mechanical engineering, research and development, FDA compliance, and product lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with tools such as Smartsheet.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS/BA in science, engineering, or business administration, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience in catheter development throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Project Management specific training and/or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of QSR, MDR, and applicable Quality Management System.
- Experience with medical device development, preferably vascular catheters.
- Experience in developing and implementing process improvement initiatives and project management frameworks.
- Experience leading large teams in a matrix management environment.
- Demonstrated track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, adept at navigating organizational challenges.
- Ability to establish personal credibility and build trust quickly.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.50 - $57.50/hr.
