What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney Control System Engineering & Electrification (CSEE) Organization is responsible for developing control system architecture and integrating the design of components, modules and systems into world class commercial and military jet turbine engine and aircraft systems.

The CSEE organization is seeking a Controls Hardware Specialist with strong technical, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will have the responsibility to develop, integrate and certify fuel and actuation subsystems and hardware for Civil and Military customers. CSEE engineering works the entire system life cycle from 1) control system technology development, 2) interpreting customer requirements, decomposing them to hardware and software, 3) technical and project oversight of hardware implementation, to 4) ensuring control system compliance across engine, flight, and customer compliance testing, and finally, 5) leading system and hardware field issue triage and resolution.

  • Develops and maintain control component specifications
  • Provides coordination of hardware item Flight Safety/ Safety requirements
  • Provides technical resolution of supplier compliance gaps
  • Provides technical & Project Ownership for Supplier Reviews
  • Supply development validation testing (DVT) issue resolution
  • Provides hardware development engine test readiness
  • Provides hardware item component Cert/Qualification (Plans, Reports)
  • Manages field issue component root cause and corrective action
  • Supports integrated product team lead on engineering changes for controls components
  • Manages field issue component root cause and corrective action
  • Manages field False Alarm reviews and recommendations
  • Ensures hardware technical requirements are properly interpreted and implemented in Supplier(s) hardware design
  • Ensures that supplier investigations and RCCAs are on track and completed
  • Supports the reliability reviews for Fuel and Actuation components

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active US Government security clearance
  • 10% Travel

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 10+ Years of experience with fuel and actuation systems and components, familiarity with engine hardware and function.
  • Presentation experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to work on a cross functional team
  • Experience with DOORS, MATLAB, other modeling software

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
