Koch Fertilizer Wever, LLC is looking for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Asset Integrity team in Wever, Iowa. This individual will be responsible for rotating equipment reliability efforts at the site. You will be responsible for supporting and optimizing the performance of rotating equipment across our operations, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and upholding our commitment to safety and sustainability.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management, to deliver top-tier engineering solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Maintenance & Reliability Optimization: Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance (PM) strategies to enhance equipment reliability and extend asset life.
  • Performance Monitoring, Analysis, & Troubleshooting: Manage condition monitoring, analyze performance, troubleshoot, identify failure trends, determine bad actors, and develop corrective action plans. Conduct root cause analysis (RCAs) and support management of change processes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects aimed at improving plant efficiency and reducing operational costs. Work closely with production, maintenance, and service teams to understand failure modes and effects and develop mitigation plans.
  • Technical Support & Implementation: Provide technical support in project development, turnaround scope identification, QA/QC, installation, commissioning, start-up, and work activities on all rotating equipment upgrades, repairs, and new installations

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Two or more years of experience working with rotating equipment in an industrial setting
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or another technical field.
  • Willing and able to meet all physical requirements:

o Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

o Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.

o Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.

o Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Fertilizer or petrochemical manufacturing experience.
  • CMRP Certification or similar certification.
  • Cat I or II Vibration certification
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and experience facilitating the process
  • Understanding of ASME and API standards as it relates to equipment repairs and design
