The individual must possess excellent communication skills for interfacing effectively with Cadence R&D, Product Engineering, Marketing and customers. Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5 to 10 years of direct hands-on experience and proficiency in thermal modeling and testing in a related high-tech industry. In-depth knowledge of EDA industry with expert-level understanding of Thermal Analysis issues at the PCB and IC Package level. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation) and fluid mechanics areas (CFD). Extensive experience in applying numerical schemes and/or commercially available software to practical problems in electronic cooling. Previous knowledge and proficiency with major thermal CFD modelling software, such as Mentor’s FloTHERM or Ansys’ IcePak is highly preferred. Knowledge of Cadence Celsius Studio, Sigrity and Tcl, etc. is also desirable. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present and clearly articulate solutions individually, and in front of medium to large groups is essential. Previous Field Application Engineering experience is a plus.
The annual salary range for California is $123,200 to $228,800. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
