JOB SUMMARY:

The job requires a candidate that has a strong technical aptitude with a proven background in vehicle electronics design and tests. The ideal candidate would be a technical expert at leading electrical component product planning, definition, development, and validation. The candidate will work cross-functionally to define component plans and oversee implementation of new electrical component projects in accordance with the Polaris Development Process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works cross-functionally with product stakeholders, pre-development, and systems teams to develop component product development plans, with a strong focus on platforming
  • Adheres to defined components development processes and active participation in maturing process
  • Creates components requirements and specifications
  • Delivers designs that are cost-optimized while still meeting all Stakeholder requirements
  • Conducts and assists with DFMEA and HARA activities on new components
  • Assists in developing and executing DVP&Rs
  • Is an active participant in the Hardware Peer Team
  • Makes recommendations to electrical designers on vehicle modeling and component placement.
  • Maintains close collaboration with suppliers
  • Addresses and resolves field and warranty issues.
  • Assists the Purchasing and Quality Departments in supplier evaluation and quoting activities
  • Employs project management techniques (including project schedules, change management, risk management, etc.) throughout development efforts.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

  • Engineering degree required (BSEE preferred).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in automotive, agricultural, or power sports system/components development
  • Experience with electronic and electromechanical component design
  • Familiarity with requirements-based design methodologies
  • Experience with and understanding of digital and analog circuit design and their associated interfaces
  • Understanding of embedded software and hardware/software interactions
  • Hands-on electrical and mechanical development experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple programs at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with testing and development technicians and with the program team.
  • Power sports or similar riding background desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Some travel (<20%) required.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $102,000 to $134,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.

To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
