Medical Device Process Engineer

Description

Process engineer position is to handle 1) packaging 2)plastic injection molding on guidewires. Hydro filling coating silicon filling tube, vision systems, guidewires and labeling. Packaging is a plus!

Primary Function:

Collaborate with departmental and corporate leadership to determine existing automation capabilities and future opportunities, creating detailed project road maps for projects that support the company's business objectives.

Improve existing processes in the Plastics and Packaging departments.

Must be mechanically inclined and willing to perform preventive maintenance on molds and other tooling and dies.

This position requires a team player who is willing to help develop others.

Job Duties:

• Develop, improve and automate processes.
• Manage the vision systems and increase usage.
• Participate and support various types of projects, including new product introduction, automation, transfer, cost improvement and other projects.
• Facilitate and support the execution of Process and Equipment Qualification protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Improve processes through application of Six-Sigma, Lean and other methodologies.
• Provide direction and guidance to team members.
• Investigate and document quality issues including NCMRs and CAPAs.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Education & Experience:

• Must possess a 4 year Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Technical area.
• Needs to have demonstrated process improvement experience.
• Experience with 6 Sigma and Lean preferred.
• Medical Device experience preferred.

• Needs to be able to use all MS Office products
• Ablility to program PLCs preferred
• Ability to edit AutoCad and SolidWorks files preferred.
• Bilingual fluency, Spanish / English is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
