Resiliency Engineering is a production-oriented discipline focused on improving service availability, latency, scalability, performance, and efficiency for technology products in Morgan Stanley. Our core infrastructure processes hundreds of millions of transactions and we serve assets of more than a trillion dollars daily. This role will be responsible for the design & implementation of the platform, and corresponding frameworks, application and gameday exercises, for testing critical applications at scale. What you'll do in the role:

• Be responsible for stability and resilience of the critical Settlements flow at Morgan Stanley which includes diverse technologies hosted by on premises distributed and Mainframe, and cloud platforms.
• Manage the day-to-day support of the systems, their stakeholders and end users and split your time evenly to also perform project tasks that include continuously evolving technology stack on cloud and observability stack in on premises and cloud, to improve the production environment.
• Apply your technical and domain expertise to solve complex technical and business challenges.
• Act as a buffer between support and development teams to keep problem resolution in production management team.
• Use your concise communication skills to manage critical incidents, ensuring all key management and business stakeholders are kept up to date.
• Focus on improving the performance, observability, scalability, resiliency and reliability of our systems by working with the Software developers and Infrastructure engineering teams to develop automated reliability solutions. Spearhead POCs on new technologies and onboard those to production environment and percolate knowledge across wider team.
• Implement observability and telemetry systems that support our applications and APIs by providing data for SLIs and SLOs and drill down metrics.

What you'll bring to the role:

• 10+ years’ experience in the IT industry of which at least 6+ years in Production Management in a multiple application environment on java micro services based applications running on Cloud and on premise.
• Experience in supporting application deployed on Azure Cloud. Expertise in incident management, service management, problem management and disaster recover. Expert knowledge of observability and reliability tools and techniques in a cloud-native environment.
• Expertise in analyzing, debugging and troubleshooting large-scale distributed applications across multiple layers, i.e. software, Infrastructure and database.
• Experience of working in Python., Java code bases.
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills.
• Eagerness to share your own ideas, and openness to those of others nice to haves, but not required qualifications.
