About us
With 80.000 talents working in 68 countries, we are one of the biggest high-tech employers in the field of safety and security. In the Netherlands, where 2000 employees are based, we are located in four cities: Huizen, Delft, Eindhoven and Hengelo (HQ). Together with an extensive ecosystem of knowledge partners, customers and suppliers, we work on radars for naval vessels, cyber security solutions, transportation systems, communication equipment for land forces, cryogenic cooling solutions and research & development for radar tech (in collaboration with TU Delft).
About the team
The development of modern Naval/Radar systems requires a multi-disciplinary approach in which the functional concept, the mechanical, the electronics, the electrical and cooling infrastructure are addressed simultaneously. In this multi-disciplinary team, the working area consists of the development of new mechanical concepts for Naval Radar and Combat systems but also the maintenance of the existing products and their Technical Product Documentation.
For the Mechanical and Electrical department we are looking for a:
Mechanical (Lead) Engineer
About the job
Your work will cover a broad spectrum of activities within the engineering department. The main area of focus will be in the generation and maintenance of the Technical Product Documentation of the so-called standard products. You will act in close cooperation with other disciplines (i.e., system engineers, electrical engineers, EMC engineers and work package managers), often in an international environment. Several tasks can be distinguished in this process, including analysis of the problem, alignment with stakeholders, mechanical engineering of the solution and making plus updating the TPD (BOM, models and drawings).
You will be part of a product / project development team, under operational management by a WPM (Work Package Manager). The team consists of engineers from several disciplines (E&M), with hardware architects, lead-engineers and engineers, per discipline. The ECC (Environmental Competence Center) is also part of the engineering department; qualification testing for environmental requirements will be executed there (high/low temperatures, humidity, corrosion protection, shock-and-vibration). Testing is in close cooperation with engineering.
