Job Summary

As an Engineer 3 on the DevX Platforms Cloud Native Application Platform (CNAP) team, you will join a team of platform engineers in the daily engineering, operations and feature delivery functions of the team’s Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes-based platforms. Responsibilities include building, automating and delivery of new features on modern, multi-cloud application platforms using technologies such as Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes. Our team enriches these platforms by layering on easy-to-consume services such as load balancing, persistent storage, metrics and telemetry, messaging, CI/CD, and data services. We remove infrastructure bottlenecks, such as submitting request tickets, by automating everything. You will partner within the teams on roadmap items and work with cross-functional teams such as Developers, Cloud, and Cybersecurity to ensure business outcomes are met.

About the team

DevX Platforms is part of the GTO (Global Technology Organization) DevX department within TPX (Technology, Product, eXperience) in Comcast Cable. DevX stands for Developer Experience. Cloud Native Application Platforms (CNAP) team, under the DevX Platforms pillar of DevX, create tools and processes to help our customers – the developers in TPX – work better, deliver their software faster, and stay cost-effective. We enable engineering teams to bring more value to market quickly by providing an integrated toolset. DevX Platforms fulfills the missions of DevX by delivering frictionless, reliable, & secure platforms.

Core Responsibilities

  • Actively participate on a DevOps Platform team to run and engineer Comcast’s Cloud Native Application Platforms (CNAP) built on open source Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.
  • Develop and enhance the platforms using open source technology through automation, employing open source software and interacting with APIs.
  • Harvest and visualize metrics; monitor health, performance, and capacity of our platforms and services and perform appropriate capacity planning.
  • Provide excellent customer service to existing customers and act as a product evangelist for prospective customers.
  • Partner with all the CNAP internal teams to operate product roadmap items that bring new features, reliability, and stability to our platforms.
  • Work with the Development and Applications teams in TPX to ensure their code is running effectively, efficiently, and securely on our platforms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as the Cloud and Cybersecurity teams to ensure infrastructure as a service (IaaS) capacity is properly managed and the platform is operating in a secure fashion.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • Participate in regular scrum/iteration planning and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedule as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7 years of experience in software engineering or platform engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or Cloud Foundry in production environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python or Go.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
  • Hands-on experience with open source technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus)
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize platform performance, capacity, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical initiatives.
  • Exposure to open source contributions or active participation in platform engineering communities.
