Description:

You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the Long Range Maneuvering Fires (LRMF) Program team. Our team is responsible for designing, building, and testing a demonstration missile, as well as developing a tactical/objective missile design.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of launch canister and missile hardware, creating innovative solutions to complex design issues, and overcoming testing challenges on a tight timeline.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and editing detailed component and subsystem designs using CREO models and Model Based Definition practices
  • Utilizing Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool navigation and Microsoft Office tools
  • Collaborating with the team to resolve design issues and testing challenges
  • Working onsite greater than 50% of the time, with potential for long stretches of full-time onsite work

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering is required.
  • Experience with CREO (Pro/Engineer) and PTC Windchill is required.
  • Experience with creating engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 is required.
  • Basic understanding interpreting and developing GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills are required.
  • Needs ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance. US citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

  • Previous mechanical experience in missile design is highly desirable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to coordinate with multi-functional teams and prioritize conflicting tasks is desirable

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
