Job Title: Dev Assembly Configuration and Quality Manager

Working Pattern: Fulltime

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

Rolls-Royce is looking for an experienced leader to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop and engage assigned Quality and Configuration specialist to meet current and future test requirements. You will also assign staff to approved business activities/technical programs, own and support definition of the appropriate section of the Test Operations strategy as well as ensure compliance to process throughout the development assembly operations activity.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • To ensure Compliance to the Rolls-Royce Quality System
  • To ensure compliance to the FAA regulations governing the development and certification of components and engines through the development cycle to production implementation.
  • to ensure compliance to policies and procedures to maintain control of hardware for all quality levels throughout the development process.
  • To ensure compliance to PC310.
  • To ensure that sufficient resource is available, through subcontract and recruitment (whilst adhering to Company manpower policy) to meet current and future test operation needs and budgets.
  • To ensure effective performance management ensuring that employees have relevant & appropriate objectives through the Business Plan Deployment Process
  • Provide technical expertise to the test operation team on engine components, facility systems, and data acquisition systems
  • To lead and develop the members of their team within and beyond their respective disciplines, including individual and professional development, training, performance and reward management, HSE and security
  • To ensure staff are suitably qualified and experienced and that the required skills are sustainable for the future through multi-skilling, staff rotation, and the competency framework tools and professional networks and standards
  • To contribute to current and future test operations' requirements and support the budget and load and capacity process
  • To be the focal point for communication within and on behalf of the Resource Group
  • To lead and manage the functional interfaces and to ensure that appropriate reviews takes place throughout the test operations processes involving appropriate experienced specialists and leaders.
  • To ensure the highest professional standards are met through use of agreed corporate methodology and processes and provide checks and balances to ensure that regulatory and business requirements are satisfied.
  • To ensure effective knowledge management through the use of knowledge capture, lessons learnt, and best practice guides for the resource group, and encourage knowledge sharing within the group and beyond
  • To lead and drive efficiency through process review, teamwork and implementing continuous improvement and operational best practice within the field of work.
  • To apply Health, Safety and the Environment policy including a commitment to continuous improvement.

Who we’re looking for:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science / Technology with 5+ years of direct people leadership, OR
  • Master’s degree in Science / Technology with 3+ years of direct people leadership, OR
  • PhD in degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience within the Rolls-Royce Quality System,
  • 5+ years direct experience with the FFA
  • 5+ years experience with direct Customer Quality
  • Has served as an ODA unit member or leader
  • Has the ability to be certified as customer DQR
  • Has the ability to be certified as an ODA member
  • 5+ years of managing configuration on complex aerospace applications
  • 5+ years of logistics experience
  • User level SAP knowledge
  • User level Engineering Configuration software knowledge
  • Experience with Third Parity Logistics and material flow through a complex supply chain
  • Experience in Development process of NPI
  • FAA A&P, P, licence in good standing with issuing authority
  • PMP Certificate, need not be current
