Job Title: Development Assembly Quality Engineer

Working Pattern: Fulltime

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

Rolls-Royce is looking for a Development Assembly Quality Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity will report to the Development Assembly Configuration and Quality Manager and has functional accountability to Quality, Defense Aerospace. This individual will serve as a dynamic, multi-faceted team member of the quality organization

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary, cross-functional teams including ExTest, FreedomWorks, Purchasing, DCMA and the Programs.
  • Manage quality concerns throughout the life cycle of development hardware, including Experimental Stores and MRB.
  • Support the quality function throughout ExTest remit.
  • Motivate personnel engaged in Quality actions throughout the organization.
  • Ensure non-conforming material is appropriately dispositioned and managed properly within the quality system.
  • Promote the use of the proper tools for RCCA activities (e.g., 8D, 3C, 5-Whys, etc…)
  • Manage hardware rejections and issues from Experimental Assembly
  • Manage Experimental Assembly response to Production-related quality issues (i.e., containment and corrective actions for Stop Ships, Field Campaigns, etc…)
  • Execute Test stand and Field borescope processes for business and customers.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science / Technology with 2+ years of experience in Quality, OR
  • Master’s degree in Science / Technology, OR
  • PhD degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass vision test in accordance with Rolls-Royce Quality requirements.

Preferred Requirements:

  • FAA A&P, P, licence in good standing with issuing authority
  • 2+ years experience within the Rolls-Royce Quality System,
  • 2+ years direct experience with the FFA
  • Experience with direct Customer Quality
  • Has the ability to be certified as a customer DQR
  • Has the ability to be certified as an ODA member
  • Has completed Audit training with experience
  • Has Experience Borescoping turbine engines on test stand and in field, unsupervised

For fully remote roles, employees can live in any state except Idaho, Nebraska, Nevada, Vermont, and Wyoming.
