Job Description:

This position is for a student assistant in the Resource & Systems Strategies (RSS) department to help with non-service point work within Irwin Library. We are looking for students who are detailed oriented, able to follow exact instructions, and those with the ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications:

Students must be an undergraduate of Butler University. Students must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Processing of new library materials
  • Assists with resource sharing
  • Shelving library materials and shifting materials based on current collection needs
  • Weeding projects which includes recycling and digitizing library materials.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively

Other Expectations:

Ensure confidentiality of information and comply with University and library standards and policies.

Learning Outcomes:

Improve marketable job skills. Student will develop their communication skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork and collaboration, and applied technology skills.
