Technical business administration internship: diagnostics analysis tooling

Introduction

Our department develops and maintains service tooling to monitor ASML equipment, diagnose disturbances and prepare and execute action plans in order to reduce the related labor hours & cycle time and increase equipment availability. The Expertise based diagnostics team focuses on a tool set to diagnose specific parts of the machine and analyze data and trace files in case the machine is not functioning anymore and to validate if the machine is performing according to specifications.

As part of this assignment you will need to define the business case and value proposition of Diagnostics analysis tooling in a measurable way, covering maintenance and support of existing tools as well as the implementation of new features. Connect to tool users in order to understand their needs and improvement requests and map it on the tool value proposition.

You will get an inside view of one of the core technology challenges of ASML and to explore the link between the complexity of ASML diagnostics and the related business proposition, get to experience the internal way of working of the company and connect and build a network of diverse stakeholders across competencies and sectors.

Your assignment

Map the user and stakeholder field of Diagnostics analysis tooling, identify and connect closely to key users to understand their needs and use cases, document the information gathered, work with the architect and SE team on the methodology of effort estimates and value proposition, calculate and document the resulting business case and value proposition of the tools as the main internship deliverable.

Your profile

To be a great match for this internship you:

  • Are a graduating (HBO) bachelor or a master student in Physics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, IT, Business Administration or a similar field.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams.
  • Have some experience and knowledge of software development.
  • Are proactive, outgoing, curious and with an investigative mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Have strong communication skills and are fluent in English (verbal and written).

This is a graduating (HBO) bachelor or a master internship for around 6 months, for 4 to 5 days per week (at least 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is September 2025.

Other requirements you need to meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
