About this role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Strategic Data Acquisition team in the Data & Analytics department. The team is responsible for acquiring & transforming market data to broader users across JET, to make the market more visible to the business, and to help us be more competitive in the market.

This is a critical role for JET as the competition in the delivery industry is getting severe and more clear and deep insight around the market is needed to win in the market.

Your role as a Data Engineer is to transform the data coming from various data sources, following JET internal data standards and Kimball model which is to transform data into dimensional & factual data tables.

Your data will be also pushed to production operational systems like Salesforce, which enables the business to trigger actions in a data driven way, therefore your data will have a direct impact on the business! Which also means that quite a lot of time needs to be spent on maintenance of our ETL, as it is a data pipeline directly influencing the business.

Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Amsterdam office & 2 days working from home

Reporting to: Strategic Data Acquisition Manager

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP for digital measurement data.
• Leverage Advanced SQL and Python to transform, optimize, and analyze large datasets.
• Build and orchestrate data workflows using tools like Apache Airflow, DBT
• Collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs.
• Utilize Git for version control and collaboration across the team.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance throughout the data lifecycle

What will you bring to the table?

• The ideal candidate will approach challenges with optimism, maintain a solutions-oriented mindset, and contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment
• Career level experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong big data cloud background; GCP preferred
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying, analysis, and data transformation with a focus on code optimization and documentation
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in building and automating data workflows with tools such as Airflow, DBT etc.
• Strong analytical mindset, with a passion for building robust and scalable data solutions.
• A natural collaborator with excellent communication skills - build bridges
