What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Test Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for whole vehicle-level verification of electrical systems, including power electronics, ECUs, wiring harnesses, and subsystems.
- Perform a range of EMC and electrical validation activities—including functional, environmental, and safety testing—to verify system performance under various operating conditions.
- Utilize electromagnetic simulation tools to model and predict EMC behavior, optimize designs, and identify areas of concern early in the development lifecycle.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret electrical and EMC test data using diagnostic tools and simulation results.
- Generate structured technical reports, summarizing observations, root cause analysis, and recommendations for design improvements.
- Maintain test traceability, data logging, and compliance documentation as required by internal and regulatory standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, integration, validation, and compliance teams to resolve issues, validate countermeasures, and ensure systems meet performance and regulatory targets.
- Support supplier alignment and internal engineering reviews related to EMC and system reliability.
- Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure adherence to current EMC standards and regulations across all validation activities (e.g., CISPR, ISO, OEM-specific).
- Stay informed of emerging trends and best practices in EMC design, simulation, and testing.
- Manage the EMC test budget, timelines, and facility/supplier engagement when applicable.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI.
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Travel: Flexibility to travel within the US and Europe to support EMC testing at third-party labs, vehicle test locations, or internal engineering hubs is expected. Passport required.

- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in EE validation, with a specific focus on EMC test and verification at the vehicle or system level.
- Proven knowledge of automotive EE components, system architectures, and integration challenges.
- Solid understanding of EMC principles, diagnostic tools, shielding techniques, and noise mitigation strategies.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing and simulation tools such as EMC test chambers, CANalyzer, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, or similar diagnostic equipment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant EMC/automotive standards (e.g., ISO 11452, CISPR 25, ISO 7637).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience collaborating across engineering and compliance teams.
- Availability to travel extensively domestically and internationally. Valid driver's license required.
- Passport required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting vehicle development programs for Volkswagen Group
- Familiarity with zonal EE architectures and software-defined vehicle concepts.
- Working knowledge of JIRA for test execution and issue tracking.
- German language proficiency for effective coordination with international teams and suppliers.
- Experience with EMC test facility contracting and resource planning is a plus.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $160,000.00
