About the Internship

We are offering a unique opportunity for highly motivated engineering students / recent graduates to join our Electrification & Automation (E&A) unit for a structured summer internship. This program is designed to provide real-world exposure to power systems, protection schemes, and digital automation technologies used in modern substations.

As an intern, you will work alongside our expert teams, contributing to technical pre-sales, solution design, training support, and customer engagement. This hands-on experience is ideal for students passionate about electrical protection systems, automation, and digital innovation in the energy sector.

Key Learning Objectives

As a Siemens intern, you will work with our team on the following tasks:

  • Understand and support the creation of cost-effective technical proposals tailored to customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the sales engineering team to design automation systems that deliver real business value.
  • Assist in pre-sales technical support and gain exposure to project execution cycles.
  • Engage in practical training sessions on Siemens Energy Automation technologies:
    • Protection Relays (e.g., SIPROTEC)
    • Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
    • Substation Automation Systems (SAS)
  • Contribute to the preparation of training content and demonstration setups for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Learn how Siemens engineers build customer trust by understanding operational needs and aligning technical solutions with evolving energy infrastructure trends.

We are looking for 4th-year undergraduate students or recent graduates (2024–2025) in:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • Power Systems Engineering
  • Mechatronics (with strong electrical fundamentals)

Required Skills & Qualities

  • Passion for Power Systems and digital automation.
  • Willingness to learn and apply engineering knowledge.
  • Strong Communication Skills and Proficiency in written and verbal English is essential.
  • Team Mindset and ability to work collaboratively with analytical thinking.
  • Familiarity with protection relays or power system fundamentals is preferred.
