OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Product Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers and oversee all aspects of product development, from concept to commercialization, in a plastic injection molding manufacturing facility. Your strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills will be instrumental in driving product innovation, improving design processes, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing the product engineering lifecycle, and fostering a culture of excellence, you will play a key role in delivering cutting-edge products that exceed customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the product engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to ensure successful project execution and professional development
  • Drive the product development process, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost targets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Quality, to define product requirements and ensure successful integration of design and engineering considerations
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement by staying up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market demands
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, processes, and best practices to drive efficiency, quality, and consistency in product development
  • Develop optimized and robust injection molding processes using Scientific Molding techniques.
  • Manage product development budgets, resource allocation, and project schedules to ensure on-time delivery and cost optimization
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to identify potential technical challenges and develop mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to evaluate and select components, materials, and technologies for product development
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing of new products, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the product engineering team, promoting a positive and results-driven work environment

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Product Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing or product development environment
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in product engineering, design principles, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and successfully delivering new products to market
  • Proficiency in product lifecycle management (PLM) software and engineering design tools (e.g., CAD, FEA)
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and results-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and quality management systems
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred, and 10 years of related experience in a plastics manufacturing environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

$124,000 to $147,000 annually
