As an Application Engineer at RTI you will be responsible for driving RTI’s technology leadership forward across our fastest-growing markets, including Automotive, MedTech, Robotics, and Aerospace and Defense.

This Application Engineering role is part of the go-to-market team that identifies and develops growth opportunities, with a focus on combining a background in coding with a visible position learning and leading the future of autonomy. In this position, you’ll help showcase the power of RTI’s Connext product through hands-on demonstrations, partner integrations, and compelling videos. You’ll work directly with RTI’s Technology Partners to grow our ecosystem and explore new technologies that are shaping the future of intelligent systems. This position is based in Denver, CO, and we are looking for someone who can work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence to foster collaboration.

✨ What You’ll Do / Responsibilities

  • Raise awareness and ease adoption of RTI products by identifying and working with partners to develop an ecosystem of best-in-class software and hardware technologies
  • Assist in designing and delivering technical demonstrations, Proof-of-Concepts, and new technology evaluations for RTI Connext DDS, partner software, and new, leading edge technologies..
  • Collaborate with RTI, customer and partner software engineers to develop and document joint projects and proof-of-concepts that best apply RTI products
  • Engage with partners and the market(s) to understand new trends and technology needs - focus markets will include but are not limited to Automotive, MedTech, Robotics and Aerospace and Defense
  • Develop marketing and sales tools such as technical papers, presentations at global industry events, written content, webinars, videos, and more.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, tutorials, and demo scripts.
  • Gather and share feedback from demonstrations and customer interactions to help improve our products.
  • Communicate with RTI’s users and staff around the world through our developer site, community portal, discussion forums, conferences and meetings to understand market and system requirements and map them to RTI products.
  • Test RTI’s solutions against our competitors, including performance, scalability, security, portability, interoperability and reliability.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to build your technical and professional skills.

???? What We’re Looking For / Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with programming (e.g., Python, C++, or Java) and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience developing software for Linux and embedded systems
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to present technical concepts to others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events or customer/partner meetings.

???? Nice To Have / Preferred Skills

  • Experience with the ROS 2 ecosystem and robotics systems
  • Experience with Machine Learning, ComputerVision or LLM Algorithms
  • Experience in at least one of RTI’s key markets: Automotive, MedTech, Robotics or Aerospace and Defense
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, especially for IoT devices
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP sockets or messaging protocols

The compensation range for this role is $98k - $115k a year in Denver, Colorado. The salary range displayed on this job posting reflects a minimum and maximum target. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that this range reflects the base salary target range only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
