As an Information Technology Specialist II you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and provide technical expertise in the development and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform and several modules
  • Leverage IT Service Management best practices and operate the ServiceNow platform as a shared service on behalf of varied organizations across the entire organization
  • Collaborate with the agency and participate in regular Stakeholder meetings to discuss upcoming changes and issues to ServiceNow to ensure adherence to DTSC governance standards
  • Provide expertise on all technical questions related to the development of ServiceNow
  • Lead and support the Cloud Application Development Services Unit with researching, implementing, and developing a wide range of applications/modules within the ServiceNow platform as well as configuring custom integrations with other IT application services within the organization using RESTful APIs
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with customers to accurately design and implement workflows, edit workflows, and ensure adherence to appropriate approvals and fulfillment

Desirable Qualifications We Look For:

  • Extensive experience configuring, developing and architecting the ServiceNow platform, including platform administration, managing modules, applying patches/updates, and supporting a multi-tenant/shared environment
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow modules, including IT Service Management (ITSM), Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD), Hardware and Software Asset Management (HAM/SAM), and Source- to- Pay(S2P), frameworks and best practices, particularly as they relate to ServiceNow configuration and governance
  • Certifications: ServiceNow certifications such as ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Specialist (CAS), Certified Technical Architect (CTA) etc
  • Proven ability to develop and implement ServiceNow applications and modules, including designing workflows, scripting, and using integration tools such as RESTful APIs
  • Experience gathering and translating user requirements into technical specifications and working solutions within the ServiceNow platform
  • Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow data management, including data quality analysis, system of record maintenance, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Ability to design, generate, and maintain dashboards and reports in ServiceNow, with attention to accuracy, timeliness, and stakeholder value
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise in a shared, multi-departmental IT environment, especially when managing competing priorities and constraints
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with business and technical users, convey complex technical concepts, and drive alignment across teams
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow product roadmap and capabilities, and the ability to align them with business needs and strategic objectives
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow development tools and scripting languages, such as JavaScript, Glide, and Flow Designer
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, particularly within government or public sector IT operations (if applicable)

Statement of Qualification (SOQ) Instructions

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required for the hiring manager’s review. Applications submitted without an SOQ may be disqualified.

The SOQ should be no more than 2 page(s) in length, be clearly written and well-organized, contain no more than (five) grammatical and spelling errors, and Arial font 12 with the questions copied above the response.

Your SOQ should address the following:

1. Describe your experience in administering and maintaining the ServiceNow platform, including how you've supported production changes, managed system updates or patches, and ensured alignment with IT governance standards. In response, highlight how you’ve collaborated with stakeholders, reviewed change requests, and supported ServiceNow as a shared service in a multi-departmental environment.

2) Describe a time when you led a cross-functional team or collaborated with stakeholders to implement a major enhancement or change to the ServiceNow platform.

What role did you play in the project, how did you manage competing priorities or constraints, and what was the outcome?

3) Give an example of how you reviewed and improved another developer’s work on the ServiceNow platform. What issues did you identify, how did you address them, and how did you ensure coding standards or platform stability were maintained?
