Department Information

The Experience Design and Development team within University Information Technology Service (UITS) works closely with partners in communication and marketing, UITS, and other departments throughout the university. We are responsible for the technical and design support for all of Indiana University (IU)'s gateway websites (iu.edu, IU Online, and all the campuses' home pages), as well as a number of online applications to serve students, faculty, and staff across all campuses. We are a cross-functional team comprised of developers, user experience designers, and content specialists. Our goal in all we do is to create sites and services that are inclusive (accessible), easy to use, and help our visitors accomplish their goals.

Job Summary

The content editor is responsible for making content updates on campus gateway websites, including northwest.iu.edu, southbend.iu.edu, kokomo.iu.edu, east.iu.edu, columbus.iu.edu, southeast.iu.edu, and others as assigned.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Make content updates to campus gateway websites via the Cascade CMS.
  • Use the ServiceNow ticketing system to manage and track requested updates to campus gateway websites.
  • Consult with the experience architect, Campus Gateway team, and content stakeholders on requested updates as needed to ensure updates are accurate and timely.
  • Adhere to the university's digital accessibility standards for all updates.

Preferred

  • Cascade CMS or other CMS experience

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate with the development team, experience architect, and content stakeholders and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

If the selected applicant is in the Bloomington area and would like to work in office, space is available at the Cyber Infrastructure Building.

Additional Information

This position is a part-time intern position for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

This position is best suited for a person with writing/editing experience who wants to gain experience in and exposure to the technical space.

Work Location

This position is eligible for remote work, subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

$20 per hour

20 hours per week
