$132k-$166k (Rochester NY, Binghamton NY, and August ME locations), $145k-$182k (Orange, CT location)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or technology.
  • 6+ years of experience in Protection & Control, or 8+ years in broader electrical engineering roles preffered
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with short circuit analysis tools (such as ASPEN OneLiner, CAPE, ETAP), Relay Programming, and protection coordination analysis
  • Solid understanding of power system fundamentals, protection principles, and industry standards

Job Summary:

As part of AVANGRID's engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and configuration of automation, data collection, protection, and control equipment subsystems. You will work on our extensive electric delivery infrastructure, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective completion of projects.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead with Expertise: Oversee planning, estimating, and engineering design for capital programs and NERC compliance initiatives
  • Be a Strategic Leader: Serve as a trusted advisor to upper management and represent AVANGRID in high-impact internal and external forums. Deliver compelling presentations that drive alignment and action.
  • Drive Impact Through Efficiency: Lead critical operations—from budgeting and vendor management to process optimization—to keep projects running smoothly and strategically aligned.
  • Foster Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate across departments, internal and external employees to ensure timely, cost-effective project delivery and high-quality protection system settings
  • Navigate and Lead Change: Anticipate future trends, embrace transformation, promote efficiency & digital innovation, and guide teams through complexity to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Represent AVANGRID Nationally: Participate in regional and national committees, shaping industry standards and best practices.
  • Process Management, Continuous Process Improvement, Project Management, Budgeting, generating Purchase Orders, reviewing Invoices, and managing contracted engineering service agreements.
