Summary:

Our Family Office Services division acts as a centralized coordinating resource for the firm’s wealthiest and most complex clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Preparing and filing annual tax returns, including Individual income tax, Partnerships, S Corporations, Gift tax and Private Foundation returns
  • Anticipating and responding to customer or advisor inquiries regarding client’s assets and liabilities, risk management programs, income tax implications of transactions and estate planning implications of transactions (in consultation with attorneys)
  • Experience or familiarity with QuickBooks preferred
  • Proficient with MS Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Assisting clients with ad-hoc projects (i.e. paying LLC annual reports, LLC formations, facilitating gifts from Private Foundations, etc).
  • Consulting with clients on income tax, charitable planning, estate planning, tax residence and domicile matters
  • Creating and implementing a strategic tax plan
  • Working with client’s attorneys regarding tax matters
  • Working with client’s employer to anticipate compensation, deferred compensation, and monitor RSUs
  • Preparing monthly or quarterly net worth summaries, cash flow reports and custom financial reports in Excel and QuickBooks and/or supervising team members who perform these tasks

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Must be well organized, attentive, have excellent attention to detail and complete tasks with a very high accuracy rate
  • Requires strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and other communication skills
  • Mastery of QuickBooks, MSOffice, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with Lacerte preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code as it applies to high income earners and significant taxable estates
  • Experience advising clients on the proper titling of assets for privacy and creditor protection
  • Experience with common estate planning techniques

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • CPA (or CPA candidate)
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

Other:

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $100,000 to $115,000 per year.
