Power Module Engineer – Mechanical

Job Description

In your new role you will:

Play a central role in the mechanic customization of new power semiconductor modules. You will be part of a highly motivated interdisciplinary team and customize new products based on existing product platforms in an agile and flexible environment.

In detail, this includes the following activities, among others

• The independent engineering of the mechanical details and functions of existing packages and product families
• Your responsibilities range is from the engineering to the introduction to a high-volume production.
• Ensure that new products are based on the latest company internal knowledge are integrated into new products and systems in a cost-optimized manner.
• As part of this activity, the constructive designs of our new products are to be defined, considering new materials in the entire chain from the supplier to the product-related manufacturing concept ("design-for-manufacturability" / "design-to-cost").
• Particularly in the concept creation phase, your role is characterized by the cross-departmental coordination of specific interests (e.g. electrical engineering, purchasing, production, quality assurance).

You describe yourself as extremely enthusiastic about technology and enjoy scrutinizing technically complex relationships. In your daily work, you show a willingness to constantly learn and strive for high quality. With your proactive mindset and strong ability to think abstractly, you have an inquisitive and methodical way of working combined with an analytical and logical way of thinking and continuously contribute your ideas. You have a clear vision of how innovation contributes to the commercial success of the company. Your in-depth experience in mechanics makes you an expert in this field. In addition, your excellent communication skills and strong customer focus make you the right person for this role. With your excellent networking skills, agile mindset and intercultural competences, you build and maintain useful technical networks.

What else do you bring to the table?

• A university degree (Bachelor/Master) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation technology or a related field of study.
• Ideally you bring a professional experience with you in the field of product customization for power semiconductor modules or electrical components for road and rail transport, LED technology, or in the field of renewable energies.
• A proactive mindset combined with a structured and self-organized way of working
• Excellent communication skills in English to operate effectively in various roles and functions.
• You show a high willingness to travel.
• Experience in the independent design and customization of metal and plastic composite components as well as ceramics and thermal management where applicable
• Ideally experience in project work, in a managerial role or as a team member.
• Ideally professional experience with a 3D CAD system (e.g. Autodesk Inventor and the Vault database) as well as tolerance analysis and metrological software in the work environment.
• Ideally experience in the design of electrical circuits and their realization as PCBs with industry-related tools (e.g. Eagle, Altium,...)
