Position: Manager - Pharmacy Operations
What You'll Do: As a Manager - Pharmacy Operations, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, clinical services and education to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
Responsibilities
- Pharmacy Operation Manager needs to meet all criteria for a staff and clinical pharmacist as defined in respective job descriptions.
- Performs staff pharmacist/clinical pharmacist duties as required.
- Complies with new & current policies & procedures, state & federal regulations; performs appropriate inspections to ensure organizational adherence.
- Participates in work plan development and revision; aligns and prioritizes pharmacy staff activities to enable department to achieve goals.
- Manages and improves the work process by evaluating, coordinating, scheduling, and handling of requests and concerns.
- Establishes consistent lines of communication to pharmacy leadership, hospital administration, physicians, and other health care related services.
- Performs other duties & accepts responsibility as needed.
- Participates in purchasing and contract related activities for pharmaceuticals and related supplies for the Pharmacy Services Group to ensure that product or vendor selection is conducted based on criteria and/or standards related to medication safety.
- Provides leadership and direction to the staff in such a way that all professional and technical activities performed are consistent with hospital and departmental mission, objectives, and policies.
- Assists in supervision of all activities & operations of pharmacy, activities of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to insure all functions & activities are within appropriate scope of practice.
- Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, & authority parameters to pharmacy staff.
- Assists with employee counseling and improvement planning regarding identified performance issues using sound professional judgment and the facility based human resources policies.
- Recognizes employee development opportunities and interests and provides support for achieving individual goals.
- Assists in hiring, training, supervising, counseling, and terminating staff when appropriate.
- Coordinates staff meeting and serves as team player to implement and continually improve work processes.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years current acute care hospital experience.
- Quality improvement experience required.
- ASHP accredited residency preferred
Education:
- Pharmacy Doctorate Degree required
Licensures/Certification:
- Current CA Pharmacy license required
- Must successfully complete and maintain LA City Fire Card certification at the time of hire or within the first 30 days of employment
