About You and this Role

Liferay is looking for a seasoned accounting and finance expert to help manage our Liferay Spain finance team. The Finance team will ensure that financial statements and critical reports are delivered timely and accurately while partnering with business leaders to help interpret Liferay’s financial performance. We’re looking for experienced leaders who will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. That person will work closely with the other members of the Global Finance department as well as internal and external accountants to ensure that work is completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, financial reporting, year-end closing, audit and the support of budget and forecast activities..

Key Objectives

  • Define roles, responsibilities, and priorities within the team and delegate workload as appropriate.
  • Setting goals and objectives for the team and monitoring against those goals.
  • Work closely with finance professionals in other regions on global projects and processes.
  • Ensure that the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes of several are executed accurately and timely in line with group reporting procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting/IFRS and Spanish Tax Laws
  • Oversee the timely and accurate filing of local taxes.
  • Demonstrate competency in complex accounting issues.
  • Ensure that accounting procedures comply with applicable laws and objectives.
  • Manage implementation of new and amended accounting standards.
  • Helping with the monthly Global Consolidation.
  • Preparing the annual audit and relationship with the external auditors.

Required Qualifications

  • Accounting or Business degree, or a comparable level achieved through exposure and experience.
  • At least 3-5 years relevant working experience at a mid-senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and strong analytical skills to look after complex transactions.
  • Experience in transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Nav and Microsoft Office.
