Job Title: Application Specialist or Authentication Engineer

Location: Remote

Reports To: Director IAM

Please note additional position details below:

  • This is a Temp-To-Hire, W-2 position. We are not able to do 1099 or C2C.
  • It is a fully remote role that will need to be based in the U.S.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security Application Specialist to join our Cyber Security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SAML/OAuth-based Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions to ensure secure and seamless access to various applications and services. The Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate secure solutions with existing systems and enhance the overall security posture of the organization.

How you'll make an impact

Key Responsibilities:

  1. SAML\OAuth Implementation and Management:
    • Design, implement, and manage SAML\OAuth-based SSO solutions.
    • Configure and maintain SAML Identity Providers (IdP) and Service Providers (SP).
    • Ensure secure and efficient authentication and authorization processes.
    • Maintain and support all authentication policies.
  2. MFA Implementation and Management:
    • Design, implement, and manage MFA solutions, e.g. Duo, EntraMFA, Okta
    • Configure and maintain MFA policies
    • Ensure secure and efficient authentication and authorization processes
  3. Integration and Support:
    • Collaborate with application owners and IT teams to integrate authentication/authorization solutions with various applications and services.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SAML\OAuth-related issues.
    • Work with vendors and third-party providers to ensure seamless integration and operation.
    • Lead Operations team as SME of the global authentication deployment
    • Maintain the all environments and plan future upgrades
    • Lead roadmap conversation about best practices and desired future state.
  4. Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure SAML solutions comply with security policies, standards, and best practices.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of SAML configurations.
    • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
  5. Documentation and Training:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SAML\OAuth configurations and processes.
    • Provide training and guidance to IT staff and end-users on SAML-related topics.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in authN and identity management technologies.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to SAML solutions.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing SAML-based SSO solutions.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles.
  • Experience with SAML 2.0, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-based identity management solutions.
  • Knowledge of other authentication protocols and standards.
  • Experience with Ping Identity products, especially PingFederate.
