Systems Engineer responsible for contributing to Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) implementation for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Common Missile Compartment (CMC) specifically in the development, integration, and deployment of Model-Based Verification.

The successful candidate will employ MBSE approaches to developing Systems Engineering products using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF) and MBSE tools to capture, maintain, and visualize a total system solution within an integrated system model to communicate the design and facilitate automation of Systems Engineering integration with other domains. The candidate will also work with the LM Space and FBM program MBSE teams to ensure that all CMC MBSE products share the same architecture framework and standards.

The successful candidate will also lead individual model diagram reviews in both internal and external Customer facing presentations and peer review in working group meetings.

As a CMC Systems Engineer for MBSE, you will:

  • Work as a thought leader and pathfinder to develop, optimize & demonstrate best practices and modern MBSE processes & standards for incorporation into the wider FBM & Strategic & Missile Defense (SMD) organizations
  • Have access to advanced training and/or certifications in the areas of MBSE and Systems Architecture as part of a talent pipeline of certified Systems Engineers, Requirement Engineers, and System Architects
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into specifications
  • Lead and coordinate with subject matter experts across LM Space for concurrence on objective quantifiable evidence that meets verification approaches in the verification model

Basic Qualifications:

  • Systems Engineering coursework with a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
  • Systems Modeling software experience (Cameo/MagicDraw/Rhapsody)
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and releasing requirements and requirement management
  • Applying SysML to Systems Engineering efforts and working with modern SysML tools
  • Applying a number of Systems Engineering processes in a program setting
  • Familiarity with MBSE execution and analysis tools
  • Familiarity with MBE tools utilized in design, development, and analysis of Systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with developing products for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program
  • Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, INCOSE Certification, or relevant Graduate Certificate
  • Success leading Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) from Mechanical, Electrical, and Test domains to achieve a common goal
  • Demonstrate behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change
  • Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience with coordinating Systems Milestones reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Using MBSE execution and analysis tools and managing model content
  • Experience developing system architecture and CONOPs with system design and decomposition
  • Experience with Model-based Verification
  • Experience with Agile Project Management (Jira)
  • Experience as a Scrum Master
  • Experience applying architecture frameworks (DODAF, ABD, Harmony, etc.)
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM)
  • Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification
  • Experience with software development (Python, MATLAB, or similar script programming)
  • Understanding of automation within Cameo (structured expression, metachain)
  • Experience with analysis/simulation development and integration
  • Experience with test planning, execution, and test automation or Hands-on test equipment operation in a lab environment
  • Experience with process development and deployment
  • Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
