About our group:

Our team is focused on mechanical process development at the Seagate Korat Slider Factory. We are seeking a driven and innovative engineer to lead the development of new material handling processes—specifically in Pick and Place automation, precision tooling, and packaging design. Our mission is to transform material handling across the slider manufacturing process, enabling high-efficiency, high-precision, and future-ready solutions that align with next-generation product roadmaps.

About the role - you will:

  • Take ownership of new process material handling solutions, focusing on Pick and Place automation, customized tooling, and packaging design for new product integration.
  • Design, develop, and validate automated systems and mechanical tooling that support high-precision, high-throughput manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the development of material handling transformation projects from concept through proof-of-concept and final deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify bottlenecks, and optimize end-to-end material flow processes.
  • Lead risk assessments, feasibility studies, and pilot trials to ensure technical robustness and process scalability. Manage project execution, timeline tracking, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely delivery and adoption.

About you:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Industrial, or a related field).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge in automation, tooling design, and process integration.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally across development, production, and equipment engineering teams.
  • Strong project management skills and accountability in driving tasks to closure under fast-paced timelines.
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English.

Your experience includes:

  • Knowledge in designing Pick and Place automation, precision tooling, or mechanical packaging systems.
  • Knowledge of process development in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with CAD design tools and basic automation control systems is an advantage.
