Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be instrumental in designing and implementing processes that help the organization meet targets for both existing and new products within a continuous improvement manufacturing environment. As part of a collaborative team, the Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with employees to achieve key performance indicators in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Support and actively participate in the development of products, manufacturing processes, and infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes using Lean tools such as line balancing, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, flexible approach and commitment to achieving company goals.
  • Develop production testers to ensure system performance.
  • Influence, lead, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet changing demands.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies within manufacturing and automation.
  • Engage with planning and design teams concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and design for automation.
  • Manage projects through plan development and execution.
  • Facilitate project meetings with relevant business content and cascading communication.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to determine product specifications, arrange equipment, materials or parts for purchase, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a strong shop floor presence.
  • Respond to escalations and resolve issues swiftly.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or similar technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Programming experience with Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platform (Word, Excel, etc).
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships as a team player.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in CNC machining, tooling, and tool design.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in an on-site manufacturing environment with a climate-controlled facility. The position offers 2 breaks and a paid lunch, with occasional travel up to 10%.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
