Position Overview:

We are a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D and production of Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs), EMI shielding materials, and magnetic components, serving industries including Telecommunications, Data Centers, Automotive, Industrial equipment, consumer electronics and etc. We are seeking a technically proficient and leadership-driven China Regional Field Application Engineering Manager to lead our field application engineering team, and oversee the planning and operation of the China Application Technology Lab. This role will drive innovation through technical empowerment, enhance customer experience, strengthen product competitiveness, and accelerate sales growth and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities**

1. Team Management & Technical Leadership

  • Build and manage the China regional field application Engineering team and FAE lab, defining team goals, performance metrics, and technical competency development plans.
  • Lead technical talent development, enhancing expertise in material characterization, EMC testing, thermal management solutions, and related fields.
  • Drive industry-focused talent development and deliver cutting-edge solutions that align with market demands in Automotive, Datacenter and other strategic verticals. Design and implement industry-focused training programs. Develop industry-driven technical promotion strategies (e.g.: vertical-specific solution packages or guidelines.)
  • Designing Targeted technical marketing tools to empower sales teams in engaging decision-makers.

2. Application Technology Lab Development & Maintenance

  • Plan and implement digital laboratory solutions in China, integrating data acquisition, analysis, and remote collaboration tools to improve technical response efficiency.
  • Establish a customer experience center with scenario-based demonstrations to showcase technical value.
  • Develop customized Technical Validation Testbeds (TTV) for rapid prototyping, failure analysis, and product compatibility testing.
  • Lead material application characteristic analysis, build material databases, and generate standardized test reports.
  • Conduct product competitiveness analysis, benchmarking against competitors and aligning with customer needs to identify technical differentiation for market strategy support.

3. On-site Technical Support & Solution Delivery

  • Resolve complex technical challenges (e.g., high-power device thermal design, high-frequency magnetic component selection) with end-to-end support from material selection to mass production.
  • Collaborate with sales teams on technical marketing, leveraging lab data and case studies to drive customer decision-making.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration & Innovation

  • Partner with R&D to optimize material formulations and processes based on lab data and customer feedback.
  • Monitor industry trends (e.g., third-generation semiconductor materials, liquid cooling technologies) and lead pre-competitive R&D and patent strategy.

5. Customer Engagement & Branding

  • Strengthen client relationships through lab open houses, technical workshops, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Publish technical whitepapers, application case studies, and industry insights to establish technical authority.

Requirements

1. Education

  • Master’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields (Ph.D. preferred).

2. Experience

  • 10+ years in technical roles within electronic materials/components industries, with 5+ years in team management and proven success in lab planning or technical platform development.
  • Expertise in at least two of the following: thermal materials, EMI shielding, or magnetic components. Experience in Automotive, Data center, Telecom markets is a plus.

3. Core Competencies

  • Proficiency in material analysis tools and digital lab management systems.
  • Hands-on experience in building technical platforms (e.g., TTV test systems, customer experience interfaces)
  • Experienced in data visualization tools (e.g., Python, Power BI) and other process automation and process automation & AI tools.
  • Strong commercialization mindset, translating lab innovations into product value and customer success.

4. Additional Requirements

  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to multitask across technical initiatives.
  • Fluency in English for global technical standards discussions.
