ABOUT THE POSITION IN ABBOTT
Abbott Diagnostics Technologies AS is part of Abbott Diagnostics, bringing together teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
The position of Senior Purchaser and Planner is within our Cardiometabolic Unit located in Oslo, Norway. This role will be responsible for procurement of raw materials and packaging as well as planning and scheduling for production departments.
This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.
1responsibilities
- Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of applicable Quality Processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
- Responsibility to understand and maintain awareness of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job.
- Tactical and operational planning of the production areas in the portfolio, as well as back up planning of other areas.
- Material planning and calculation
- Perform call-offs according to contractual agreements
- Preparation of tender requests / evaluation
- Follow-up of deliveries and contact with suppliers, supplier monitoring
- Maintenance of basic data in SAP
- Invoice matching
- Optimize inventory levels regarding service level and capital tied up in inventory
- Participate in procurement negotiations
- Participate in Projects on behalf of Supply Chain
- Manage smaller SC projects
- Handle complaints
- Creation of new materials with initial verification that the required data is entered into the form
- Write SOPs, where necessary, within your own area of responsibility
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

- Schedule the execution of the tasks assigned by the department manager, within the limits given by procedures in Abbott’s quality system and approved progress and production plans
- Work independently and contribute to work on validation / qualification task
- Control and approve process orders / productions
- Check and approve validation / qualification protocols / reports
- Assign contracts (avrop) according to agreed framework contract and contracts
- Certify cost voucher according to budget
- Choose suppliers in collaboration with Purchasing Manager, QA, R&D, Production and other relevant users
3minimum qualifications / education / experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, and 2-5 years’ relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in relevant field, and 1-3 years’ relevant experience
- Good Excel skills
- Fluency in English as well as a Nordic language

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, and 5-8 years’ relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in relevant field, and 3-5 years’ relevant experience
- Good knowledge of SAP
