The Opportunity

The position of Senior Purchaser and Import/Export Coordinator is within our Cardiometabolic and Informatics Business Unit located in Oslo, Norway.

This role will have two main areas of responsibility:

  • Purchasing: Procurement of raw materials and components for production.
  • Import/Export: Coordination and review of import and export shipments.

Abbott Diagnostics Technologies AS is part of Abbott Diagnostics, bringing together teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Material planning.
  • Call-off according to contractual agreements.
  • Follow-up of deliveries and contact with suppliers.
  • Maintenance of basic data in SAP.
  • Invoice matching.
  • Inventory management.
  • Participate in procurement negotiations.
  • Handle complaints / discrepancies with vendors.
  • Analyze, coordinate and review import and export shipments.
  • Ensure that import and export documentation comply with customs regulations and trade compliance.
  • Communication with customers and stakeholders.
  • Represent the department during audits.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, and 2-5 years’ relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in relevant field, and 1-3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Lack of relevant education can be substituted by 5 years’ relevant working experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience from industrial purchasing is preferred.
  • Strong Excel and SAP skills.

Personal competencies:

  • Good communication skills in writing and orally, both in Norwegian and English.
  • Good ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Precise and systematic.
